about me

Hello, my name is Ward and I’m a photographer from the city of Utrecht in The Netherlands. I've been active in the music industry for over 15 years now and currently work as a production manager at one of the largest concert venues in Europe: TivoliVredenburg.

After successfully ignoring my interest in photography for over two decades I decided to dive in headfirst during the Covid-times. Merging my background in music and events with a newfound passion for photography turned out to be a great fit and quickly grew out of hand. Resulting in now being a resident photographer at my own beloved venue and combining my regular job with freelancing in photography.

Shooting events is something I enjoy a lot as I get a kick out of the specific factors that often characterize this type of photography: a limited amount of time, space or lighting (and preferably all at the same time). I strive to find new and creative angles to tell a story and I'm always interested in exploring new techniques to do so.

That's where my interest in drone photography comes into play. A drone enables a unique perspective which offers a lot of creative possibilities for both stills and video. Although music and events make up most of my portfolio, I also love photographing people and commissioned work.

As a fully self-taught photographer I always stay passionate about educating and developing myself in all different aspects that photography has to offer. I always like to hold a laid-back yet professional approach in my work. If you’d like to work together, discuss a new project or for any other enquiries, please get in touch.
